Evidence Based Approaches
These are methods of work in VAC prevention work that are structured to deliver predefined strategies in order to realize particular results. For instance, the INSPIRE Seven strategies to ending Violence against children have particular approaches recommended as effective in order to deliver the expected VAC prevention results.
Guidance note on compiling an Evidence Based Approach from program interventions aimed at preventing violence against children.
Whereas there is no blueprint on what should constitute content for different knowledge products, in recognition of the fact that East Africa actors in VAC prevention have different capacities in documenting evidence; VaCNets Virtual hub hereby outlines essential elements for each knowledge product for guidance purposes and encourages users to do further research to enable generation of good quality knowledge products.
The outline below is not a blue print. It is only a guide for contextual application and hence further reading as you compile your Evidence Based Approach is encouraged.
- Name of Approach
- Background (Introduce the approach and promoting organization).
- Define core aspects of the Approach
- Outline accompanying tools & manuals.
- Explain Approach Assessment done.
- Share assessment Results
- Provide Lessons learnt
- Guide on considerations to be made by others interested in using the approach.
