Research Briefs
Research is an integral part of VAC prevention work as studies and assessments done before, during and post implementation provide insight on key issues to focus on as well as recommendations. A research study summary
that provides insights to practitioners on the issue investigated, findings and recommendations can be helpful to practitioners at program design in problem definition and identification of appropriate intervention approaches.
Guidance note on compiling Research Briefs from program interventions aimed at preventing violence against children.
Whereas there is no blueprint on what should constitute content for different knowledge products, in recognition of the fact that East Africa actors in VAC prevention have different capacities in documenting evidence; VaCNets Virtual hub hereby outlines essential elements for each knowledge product for guidance purposes and encourages users to do further research to enable generation of good quality knowledge products.
The outline below is not a blue print. It is only a guide for contextual application and hence further reading as you compile your Research Brief is encouraged.

VaCNets Virtual Hub is a knowledge Hub of Impact and innovations Development center under the learning Initiative on prevention of Violence Against Children (VAC) in East Africa. Established in March 2022, the Hub exists to serve as a central repository of all types of evidence including local knowledge from program practice and research on What works in prevention of VAC in East Africa; as well as a platform that connects practitioners for knowledge exchange and learning from available evidence.
